Fletcher Challenge Retirees Club - Wellington

The Club was formed in April 1990 and operated very smoothly until the holding company, Fletcher Challenge Limited, was broken up. Since then it has been more difficult to generate active involvement in the clubs activities. For example the attendance at the annual Christmas lunch is much smaller than during the 1990's. However currently we have a general members list of 170 and an active membership of 42.

The major events we are planning over the next 12 months are:

1. The Annual General Meeting of the Fletcher Challenge Retirees Club Wellington in August 2004 (venue and actual date presently undecided).
2. A Barbecue at Tatum Park, 10 kms south of Levin, to be held in October 2004 in conjunction with the Central Districts Fletcher Challenge Retirees Club (actual date undecided).
3. The Annual Christmas lunch probably to be held at The Wellington Club in mid December 2004 (actual date presently undecided)
