An inaugural meeting was held on 15th June 1993 to discuss the formation of a Club. Discussions were held about setting things in motion and a suggestion of a $5 membership fee was tabled. It was decided that the first function to be held would be a luncheon which would incorporate the 1st Annual Meeting.
The 1st Annual Meeting was held on 31 August 1993 which was attended by retirees and associate members. Mention was made that there were retirees living in Wairarapa who could be interested in joining and it was agreed that this would be followed up as well as an approach to the Hawkes Bay area.
